Snowshoeing at Lassen

I went snowshoeing for the first time this Saturday! Holly, Shelby, Sarah, me (and baby) all hopped in the car this morning and took the short drive to Lassen Volcanic National Park.


Here we are all geared up. The park offers free guided tours all winter long. For a dollar donation, you get to borrow a pair of snowshoes, learn all about nature and winter-time survival.


We learned about lichens...


And then some of us wore the lichens.

20 Weeks

Tim and I went to our 20 week appointment for a sonogram today. Here is the first picture of our 11 ounce baby. You can see its head, body, spine and beating little heart (the dark space in the chest area).



Finally, what you've all been waiting for... It's a girl!! See the little legs, and the arrow pointing in between? There's nothing there for show and tell.



And here is a closer profile of our little one. The doctor said that she has all of her parts, and looks healthy as can be. Praise be to God!

Fruit of the Womb

Psalm 129:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.


We are officially 5 months pregnant this week. Tim and I will drive to Chico on Wednesday to have a level 2 ultrasound done, and will hopefully find out the sex of our baby! I love being pregnant (now that my morning sickness is gone). I'm getting lots of nutritious foods and trying to exercise at least 60 minutes a day.



Tim is already a great dad. He bends down and talks to the baby. "Hi Priscilla," he jokes, knowing that I hate the name. He puts his ear on my belly, trying to listen to the sounds or feel the kicks. He gives me special back rubs and complements me more than ever. Last night, he humored me by slow dancing with me in my PJs during the credits of a chick flick. Now that's a real man.
