Strawberries A+... Carrots F-

The strawberries are finally getting ripe.
We've been munching on them all week. Yum!
Our carrots are another story.... Super tall leaves and one giant stump of a carrot. What gives? Anyone know what the problem might be? I'm wondering if it was my irregular watering in the early spring, or if it's not getting a deep enough water so that the carrot doesn't want to continue? Or maybe the weather is too hot now? I'm pretty sure there are no rocks stopping them since these were planted in my raised beds.

That's so odd. the only thing I can think of is that maybe your soil didn't have enough of the right nutrients, like not enough potassium, maybe. Or maybe the soil is too basic or acidic. I've never grown carrots before so I have no real answer for you, sorry :(
