A few weeks ago we trimmed our pear tree, so we used some of the twigs to steak our pea plants that were planted earlier this winter.
They have survived the wind and rain laying flat on the ground. Now I'm hoping that these sticks will keep them off the ground and growing tall.
Earlier in the winter I also planted lettuce, collard greens and beats in pots. The winter sun did not hit the garden beds so I placed them in the middle of the yard where they got some rays.
I started to transplant some of them into my spring bed a few weeks ago when it was dry. They seem to like the space. And now most of this bed gets enough sun.
If anyone out there also has a gardening blog, be sure to post your link on my comments. I love to follow what other people are doing with dirt and seeds!
