Corny Experiment

I experimented with corn this year.
Daphne husking... And the final outcome... wait for it...wait for it...
Weirdness. Not sure why my corn looks like a hillbilly's toothless smile, but that's what we got this year. Not enough sun, not enough corn planted? Not sure, but I probably won't do it again next year. Too much work and space for what you get. It was a fun little experiment though.

Hmmmm......we did corn this year again (2nd or 3rd attempt) and it FINALLY turned out tasty and good. Every other year ours turned out like yours and a couple people told us that 1)they need to be picked on exactly a certain number of days after you plant them (I forgot what it is, Joel is really the corn farmer) and 2)you have to plant a certain number, a certain way, as they cross-pollinate or something, and won't produce a good crop if not. We ended up planting a good 4-6 rows of corn, and I forgot how to put them but there's a "specific" way to do it. In short, I think corn is cranky. :)

Hope it helps a little....like I said, Joel is really the farmer in our family, so I'll ask him for more specifics, but this is just what we heard after 2 years of failure...:)
